Somdatta
A graduate of Darpana Academy of Performing Arts in Ahmedabad, Somdatta is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer trained since the age of 4. Darpana Academy has been founded by Smt Mrinalini Sarabhai and is now currently being spearheaded by Maliika Sarabhai.
Somdatta has performed for the Doordarshan and several other projects and choreographies in Ahmedabad. She has judged various competitions in Ahmedabad and has also received awards .
Somdatta believes continuous learning enriches and enlighten our path and the future generation. She has learnt Ballet and Modern Dance under the guidance of Jody Gazenbeek-Person, Jill Molinero, Jennifer Gladney, Rebecca Bradowski and Lester Holmes at the MCCC and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities with a concentration in Dance from Rider University, USA. Somdatta recently graduated from Rider University with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Dance Movement Therapy.
Rebecca Brodowski
Rebecca completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Stockton University in 2014. She specializes in Ballet, Modern, Tap and Jazz. Rebecca taught at the Mercer County Community College for their dance program from 2015-2019. During this time she taught modern and ballet techniques courses, as well as choreography classes where students would create their own dances, as well as learn to work with lighting design and hold a performance at the end of the semester. She also performed and choreographed many pieces for Mercer Dance Ensemble. She has worked with Rain Ross Dance, where she performed in Richmond Virginia for the 13th Annual Richmond Choreographer Showcase, as well as for the Between the Seas Festival in New York City. Brodowski has performed in several shows in Philadelphia including HATCH at the Performance Garage in June 2016, and premiered a collaborative piece with Brianne Scott in the Coaction Dance Collective's "co·a·lesce" performance in 2017. Rebecca loves sharing her passion and experience of dance to others to help them be able to express themselves though dance.
